Sandra Darlene Sutterfield Martin, 54, passed away May 4, 2016. She was born January 1, 1962, to Arvil and Harriet Sutterfield. She was of the Baptist faith, and during her years in Batesville she attended West Baptist Church. She was the owner and operator of Willis Funeral Service and S&S Crematory for over 20 years. She liked to garden, enjoyed cooking, and enjoyed looking at the stars. She was a deputy coroner of Independence County for several years and also served as a Girl Scout leader. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family.She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvil and Harriet Sutterfield, and a sister, Diane Sutterfield. She is survived by her husband Richard Martin; two daughters, Miranda Traw, and her husband, P.J., and Lori Chandler and her husband, Matt; her step-daughter, Britni Martin; and a grandson, Slayton Chandler; four brothers: David Sutterfield, Larry Sutterfield and his wife, Shirley, Roger Sutterfield and his wife, Rita, and Mike Sutterfield and his wife, Marsha, a sister, Judy Smotherman, and her husband, Winfred, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation was Monday, May 9th from 5-7 PM at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 10th at 10:30 AM at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Egner Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Winfred Smotherman, Jody Smotherman, Randy Sutterfield, Rodney Sutterfield, Bobby Galloway, and Danny Smart.
