Lewis Winter, 90, of Conway, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 19, 2018. He was born November 14, 1927, in Westover, TX to the late Jessie Carlee Winter and Laura Keathley Winter. Lewis is also preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Ann Winter, and brother, Bobby Ray Winter.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 68 years, Freedia Winter, two sons, Eddie Winter and Mike Winter (Cyndi) all of Conway, grandchildren, Zach Wyatt of Alma, AR, Allison Joiner (Kevin) of Conway, and Adam Winter of Conway, great-grandchildren, Lily Winter and Harrison Joiner of Conway and numerous extended family and friends.
Lewis was a long-time member of the First Church of The Nazarene in Conway. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Force and later Army National Guard and served during the Korean Conflict. Lewis was with the Conway Fire Department for 32 years, retiring as 1st Assistant Chief. He was a lifetime member of Green Grove Masonic Lodge #107 of Conway. Lewis was employed as a Funeral Director with Roller-McNutt Funeral Home and celebrated his 75th anniversary in August of this year. He loved the Roller family very much. Lewis was inducted into the Arkansas Funeral Directors Hall of Fame. He loved helping families and served them with the utmost compassion and respect.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the First Church of The Nazarene, with Bro. Larry Grubbs and Pastor Tim Britton officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Winter, Zach Wyatt, David Davis, Dickey Fortner, Rickey Atkinson, and Charles Gates.
