Edith Louise Farmer, 81, of Springdale passed away Monday, September 24, 2018, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born October 23, 1936, in Sonora, Arkansas, to Theo and Merle Barnes Johnson.
Louise was a member of Cross Church Springdale where she served many years in the Bus Ministry and faithfully served on the Count Committee for over thirty years. She also went on many trips with the First Baptist Church Youth Choirs. She worked for several years at Sears Catalog Store in Springdale on Emma Avenue and later in Fayetteville at the Northwest Arkansas Mall. She served alongside her husband working at Sisco Funeral Chapel until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Springdale Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She was an Amatuer Radio operator and held the callsign, KF5CHO.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Dean Johnson, John C. “Jake” Johnson and one granddaughter Elizabeth Louise Reed. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Charles C. Farmer of the home; two sons, Rex David Farmer of Springdale and Charles D Farmer and wife Amanda of Springdale; one daughter, Debbie Louise Reed and husband Tim of Sonora; one brother, Harold Johnson and wife Willa Dean of Springdale; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Norma Jean Johnson of Springdale.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 28, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Joe Dorman officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
