Statement from the Arkansas Funeral Directors Association on Attorney General Action

LITTLE ROCK—The Arkansas Funeral Directors Association today expressed support for Attorney General Leslie Rutledge’s decision to file a lawsuit against the Arkansas Funeral Care facility in Jacksonville for violating both the law and ethical obligations funeral care providers are obligated to follow.

Association president, Sarah Wilkerson Casteel of Wilkerson Funeral Homes said, “Arkansas’ funeral professionals are devoted, dedicated individuals committed to caring for every family they work with in the most respectful way. We are sad that one bad actor brought such negative attention to our industry. We support the Attorney General’s decision in this case. We hope the public can rest assured that this terrible incident is an exception to an industry full of caring professionals working to serve families in their time of need.”

The Arkansas Funeral Directors Association is the statewide organization for Arkansas funeral homes. The Association and its members offer the deepest condolences to the families who suffered as a result of this isolated incident.
