Arkansas Funeral Directors Association

Inspiring excellence in service for funeral professionals

Why AFDA Membership Pays

The value of membership goes well beyond your dues. Shrinking revenues may cause funeral home owners and managers to call into question the value of membership in AFDA. In light of this challenge, we ask you to consider operating your business with or without the resources and support only available from AFDA. Ask yourself, "When is it that I need support?" "When do I need the fastest answers?" "When do I need a network of friends whom I can turn to?"

While considering these questions, think about the fact that AFDA has 3 employees, and several volunteers, searching, analyzing, reading, publishing, debating, investigating, solving, and winning--all working to make your businesses more productive and efficient! Do you want to do all this on your own? What would the costs be in terms of your time, money and effort? AFDA membership starts to look like the bargain it is when framed in this light!

The Arkansas Funeral Directors Association (AFDA) works to establish, cultivate, and promote programs and policies that strive to mark the passage of life with dignity and instill high standards for ceremonies that are sensitive to the special needs of those who survive.

In 2014, The AFDA convinced the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette to change the obituary deadline from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The AFDA was the industry’s only voice during the Arkansas Funeral Care crisis.

The AFDA provides opportunities to connect with colleagues throughout the entire state and offers the finest in educational opportunities. In 2014, AFDA hosted the Crematory Operations Certification Program™ and Crematory Arranger Certification Program™, those are examples of how the AFDA presents opportunities for growth.

• Discounted Merchant Services (ask us about TSYS)
• Preferred Vendors
• And more!

We hope this helps you understand why AFDA membership really does pay! Your contribution to and participation in the AFDA is significant because it not only contributes to your business growth and professional enhancement, but  furthers the mission of the industry as well.
