Richard Oliver Ermert, Sr.

December 16th, 1921 - July 30th, 2008

Richard O. Ermert, Sr. was born the son of Francis Marion Ermert and Cora (Wilson) Ermert on December 16, 1921 in Datto.

He departed life on July 30th, 2008 at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 14 days.

Mr. Ermert was retired owner and operator of the Ermert Funeral Home.  He served his country in the army and was a Veteran of World War II.  He was 32nd Degree Mason, Charter member of Kiwanis Club where he served as Secretary-Treasurer for 8 years, and a licensed funeral director and embalmer for over 60 years.  He had served as a past board member for many organizations including the Family Medical Center in Corning, the Corning School District, and Memorial Insurance Co. in Blytheville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

On November 3, 1950 he was united in marriage to Alice Jean (Thompson) Ermert.  She survives.

Rick Ermert and wife Rhonda of Corning
Clyde Ermert and wife Patty of Eureka Springs

Three Daughters:
Fran Holder and husband Rodney of Bellevue, Nebraska
Barbara Patterson and husband George of Sunrise Beach, MO
Lana Massanelli of Little Rock

One Sister:
Freda Vester of Jerome, Idaho

Nine Grandchildren

And Five Great-Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Cora Ermert, brothers Carl and Clyde Ermert, and sister Letha Wilson.
