Loma Susan Essex

DeWitt – Loma Susan Essex, 24, went to heaven on Nov. 10, 2008. She was born February 3, 1984, in Little Rock to Cooper and Connie Schlenker Essex.

Loma was an honor graduate of DeWitt High School and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. While at ASU, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and many other organizations as well as being an Indian Ambassador. She was a fourth generation funeral director and embalmer. Loma was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of DeWitt, serving in any way she could at the church. She was a member of the DeWitt Jr. Women’s Club.

Loma is survived by her loving parents, Cooper and Connie Essex, and a sister, Laura Essex, all of DeWitt; her grandparents, Jack and Mary Essex of DeWitt and Dorothy Schlenker of Tichnor; numerous aunts, uncles and friends, too numerous to count. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Meredith Essex, and her grandfather, L.W. “Bud” Schlenker.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at DeWitt Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home.
