Alberta Smith Sims

June 3, 1960 - February 12, 2012

"A wife of noble character who can find?" Proverbs 31:28

Where do I begin to speak of a woman whose heart was worth its weight in gold.

ALBERTA SIMS always gave her all and never asked anything in return. ALBERTA was a woman who put the needs of everyone before own and kept a smile through it all. ALBERTA SMITH SIMS came into this world a happy bundle of joy to Elmer and the late Frances Hicks Smith on June 3, 1960. She would later learn of a Greater Power that she professed to all. ALBERTRA was a woman that knew God could do all things. The Almighty that could see you through even when you thought you couldn't . She LOVED the Lord!

ALBERTA persued a career that was befitting to her character as a registered nurse. Her power of influence impacted a daughter's decision to follow in her footsteps. She graduated in 1985 from Southern Arkansas University with a Associate in Nursing and so began her odyssey of serving others as God would. Her professional nursing career ended at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home where she served as Director of Nursing. Nursing never left her heart because we all knew that if you had an ailment, call Mother and if she couldn't tell you a cure then she would find a way to get you help. SERVICE is something so simple and often difficult to provide, but never for Mother. She gave even when she didn't have. She would lend an ear to whoever passed her way. She was totally committed to her chidlren and was their greatest cheerleader and motivator. She would be your rock when you felt you had no other. ALBERTA would be your foundation when you thought your had shattered. It is said that behind every good man is a good woman created just for him with the key to his heart. FLOYD SAMUEL SIMS found his key in my mother with a love that spanned 33 years. In the last few years, if you saw one you saw the other with a love that permeated between each other. That love transcended on February 12, 2012 when they were both called home. ALBERTA is now walking in Glory with her mother, brother, Luther Ray Smith and an infant daughter, Franeshia S. Sims.

She leaves to treasure her loving memory a son, Cheundrae R. Hart; daughter Falundrus S. Sims(Michael), father, Elmer Smith, six brothers, Lonnie E. Hicks, Bruce D. Smith, Elmer C. Smith, Charles R. Smith, John E. Smith and Jonah Johnson; one sister, Mary Shutes, the joys of her life, her Grands, Jamerion S. Hart, Undrae L. Hart, KeUndrae R. Hart, and Tyler J. Hart. ALBERTA SIMS was a mother to all, she touched so many people in so many ways and her true legacy will always be selfless giving.
