Tommy C. Mills

December 14th, 1941 - August 3rd, 2008

Tommy C. Mills, 66, of Farmington passed away on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 at his home. He was born on December 14th, 1941 in Fayetteville, the son of Harry Sr., and Opal P. Bradley Mills.

He was an employee and co-owner of Moore’s Chapel for over 45 years. He was retired from the US Naval Reserve, having served in Vietnam aboard the USS Arlington. He was a member of the Farmington First Baptist Church and the Fayetteville Noon Kiwanis Club.

He was a kind and generous man, a good friend and he enjoyed playing practical jokes. One of his great passions was working with his cattle, and he also enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a loving and wonderful husband and dad and brother. His greatest delight was spending time with and spoiling his six grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Matilda Robinson Mills to whom he was married for 43 years. One daughter, Beverly Pergeson and her husband, Keith, of Prairie Grove. One son, Trent Mills and his wife, Julia, of Fayetteville. Six grandchildren, Caitlin Pergeson, Cambre Pergeson, Turner Mills, Bailey Lossing, Edie Caroline Mills and Kendal Pergeson. One brother, Harry Mills Jr., and his wife, Marinel of West Fork. One sister, Mary Jane Luper and her husband, Randy of Winslow; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Jim and Sue Garmon , our friends at Luginbuel Funeral Home, WRMC Wound Care Center, Highlands Oncology Clinic and WRMC Hospice. They would also like to thank their many family members and friends who offered their help and support over the past several months. Tommy will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6th at Farmington First Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 7th at Farmington First Baptist Church on Rheas Mill Road with Pastor Barry Smith officiating.

Interment will be in the Brentwood Cemetery with military honors, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
