Betty Baugh

We just received notification that Betty C. Baugh, 85, passed from this life into eternity on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born February 2, 1933, in Craighead County, Mrs. Baugh was the daughter of Marshall & Ethel (Ivie) Coleman. She had lived all her life in the Jonesboro area. She earned her Master's degree in Education from Arkansas State University. She was a school teacher for 31 years, having taught at Greene County Tech and Westside schools. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the International Society for Women Educators. Mrs. Baugh was also a licensed Funeral Director with Farmers Union Funeral Home. She was a member of Greensboro Road church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, writing, traveling, and ceramics.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Harold J. Baugh, Sr.; her parents, Marshall & Ethel Coleman; her brother, Jimmy Coleman, and one grandson, Alex J. Baugh.

Survivors include her son, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.) Harold J. Baugh, Jr. and his wife, Lou Ann; two grandsons, Ryan J. Baugh and Cory J. Baugh, and his wife, Ashley. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

The family received visitors Monday evening, May 28 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home. There was a graveside funeral service on Tuesday, May 29, at Nettleton Cemetery.
